apps for dads and partners

All of these apps allow you to choose your “role” in baby’s life. This caters the relevant information the apps give you as the dad, partner, grandparent, etc. And will be a huge help in her journey! She’s honestly probably feeling as crazy and nervous and excited as you are.

Pregnancy Apps for Dads and Partners

Daddy Up

This. App. Is. Awesome. Daddy Up is both hilarious and informative for new and seasoned dads alike. Like the first trimester? Known as “The Woods” now. Dad will get weekly updates on their “Lumberjill’s” pregnancy, and the size comparisons are “rugged” – like in week 11 your little lumber baby is the size of a caterpillar. Plus, he gets a “daddy checklist”, a journal to jot down thoughts, and a contraction timer which will definitely come in handy down the road.

Hello Belly

This app was created by the Hello Baby company and is SO cute. I love that it has the option for dad’s / partners to use it as well, so they can prepare for the baby right alongside you. You get 3D visualizations of how the baby is growing and they are so beautifully lifelike. As well as the basics, like what’s going on with you and your body and baby each week. I LOVE the checklists and the mommy yoga too!

Hello Daddy-O

A really “dude” app for dads. They have hilarious comparisons for the dad-to-be, like your 9 week old son is the same length as a Toy Brick minifig, or your 33 week old baby girl is the same size as a pizza! It also gives baby’s height and weight, in both metric and imperial, and breaks down exactly what week and month your partner’s pregnancy is in.

Hi Daddy

This one syncs with Hi Mommy so both you and your partner can be kept up to date and on the same page! It’s great for husbands that want to be informed, but maybe aren’t great at reading all the books, ha. Gives just enough information, as well as lets dad know the symptoms and emotions mom may be going through. Which is great to help dad when he’s feeling a little lost or like his partner is not acting like their normal selves!

Pregnancy+

Has the COOLEST interactive CG images of the baby while growing. It’s been awesome to see it progress as it would in the womb. There are so many options to use with this app – weekly notes, adding your schedule and appointments, baby name suggestions, tips and tricks and more. This is definitely a favorite with my birth month group!

What To Expect

A wealth of knowledge in a single app! I love that WTE has a community of other dads / partners / caregivers who all have babies due in the same month. So you can have a built-in support group of other partners going through the same things you are. There is weekly development information as well as a weekly video of the baby, and more. Plus, after the baby is born, the app continues with helpful hints, tips, and tricks for life throughout baby’s first year! Which is incredibly helpful, especially for first time parents.

Who’s Your Daddy?

Catered for first time dads, this app was written by men, for men. It has simple daily tips and weekly updates, without any of the “complicated” or “girly” stuff. Just a funny and easy to understand guide for your partner’s pregnancy. There’s a great timeline feature for adding any and all appointments, as well as pregnancy milestones and tips on what dad should be considering doing. It gives recommendations for what to bring in the hospital bag, baby name suggestions, contraction timer and more!
