You know what I love? When I am in need of suggestions for all the things and you guys come through. The other day on my Instagram stories I asked for your recommendations for the best maternity jeans out there. And you all did not disappoint! The following were all suggested by you – thank you! I have already ordered a few from Madewell and Jessica Simpson to try first. I’ll make sure to come back and update as I get the chance to try them all.
Best places to buy maternity jeans:
Amazon:
These Signature by Levi Strauss Maternity Baby Bump Skinny Jeans are a hit! And not only are they stretchy and comfortable, but budget-friendly too. At under $30, you can grab a pair in multiple styles and washes! Plus, because it’s a smaller panel, many reviews say they’re the perfect jeans for postpartum too.
Gap:
This should have been a duh. But a lot of you recommended Gap maternity jeans! You love that they’re good quality, but don’t break the bank. And Gap is always doing sales which makes the prices even better. You love these super soft inset panel pair, these demi panel skinnies, and these amazing medium wash full panel skinnies. Jessica Simpson from Destination Maternity + Motherhood Maternity:
This was a shock! But a TON of recommendations were for the Jessica Simpson brand maternity jeans from Destination Maternity. In particular, people recommended this pair of medium wash skinny maternity jeans that had a little distressing. And you love these black ones too. Additionally, a lot of you have a ton of favorites from Destination Maternity, like their Secret Fit style maternity denim. More of your favorites are:
Madewell:
There were two pairs specifically that people mentioned they loved – an adjustable skinny pair with raw hems, and an over the belly black distressed pair. People specifically talked about the fact that the denim was super high quality, and had amazing stretch as they grew. Plus, there were lots of talks about how the adjustable pair are also perfect for postpartum! I also ordered a more basic dark wash skinny that is a Tencel jean I’m really excited to try.
First try on: the adjustable skinny pair with raw hems. These were surprisingly comfortable, but I wish I had ordered a size down. I went with a 30 because of my hip measurements, but within about 10 minutes of walking around Costco I found myself needing to hike them up. When I asked around, it seems like everyone sized down and got their perfect fit! So even if you have wider hips like me, go down. Denim is super soft and comfy, love the exaggerated raw hem, but a little on the too short of a length for me side.
Second pair: the basic dark wash skinny. And I’M IN LOVE. These are legitimately the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever put on my body, ha. Everything is perfect – the stretch, the softness of the denim, the cut, the fit, everything. I did size down to a 29 in these and am so glad I did! They are a full panel, but way more comfy than any Old Navy / Target full panel I’ve tried and actually stayed up.
Third pair: the over the belly black distressed pair. First world problems, when you cant decide whether you love these or the Tencel dark wash skinnies more! SO comfortable, they’re just amazing. I feel like this color is really versatile – kind of a not black but not totally gray. And I love the very slight distressing just in the knee area. They are SO flattering and I totally get the Madewell jean hype. I went with a 29 in these, so def size down!
Old Navy:
I’m going to trust you all on this one. I will be honest and say my one pair I have from Old Navy from 5 years ago were… not great. But you all have promised that Old Navy’s maternity denim has really stepped up their game. You LOVE these full panel rockstars, these low panel release hem jeggings, and this almost black pair!
Paige:
I used to be a huge fan of Paige denim when I worked retail. Which feels like a lifetime ago! But I had NO idea that Paige carried a maternity denim line! And apparently they are amazing. Especially this pair. You all told me you buy them at Nordstrom Rack to get the best prices. Genius! Best part? They’re ALL side panel, so no panel if you’re like me and prefer nothing on your belly!
First pair tried: the Verdugo Dark Wash Skinnies. And they are AMAZING. The denim is thick, without being stiff, and I could definitely see them being incredible for both pregnancy and postpartum. Love the stretch, but definitely size down! I tried a 30, and they were a little loose, so I’m going to try a 29 and see if I get a more snug fit.
Here are a few of your top recommended Paige maternity denim jeans:
Pink Blush:
With how much I love Pink Blush for my maternity dresses, I’m shocked I didn’t think of them. But you guys love the price point, how often they have sales, and the variety of maternity denim that Pink Blush has to offer! Here are just a few of your favorites (and trust me, there were a LOT!):
Target:
I cannot believe I never thought to look at Target! You guys LOVE the Ingrid & Isabel maternity denim at Target. And the best part? They’re $30! I had 3 top suggestions – this basic black pair that have amazing reviews, this side panel medium wash distressed pair, and then these slightly cropped pair.
