3 Toddler-Approved Superfood Smoothie Recipes, inspired by Bumble Bee.
What were some of your favorite Saturday morning cartoons when you were a kid? I wanted to be just like my brother, so everything he liked, I liked too. We would head downstairs in the morning, grab a bowl of cereal and tip toe into the living room. He switched on the TV and I would stare at the screen, transfixed at the magic happening in front of me.
That magic was The Transformers. Watching the Autobots not only save the world, but go from vehicle to robot was unlike anything I had ever imagined. We weren’t allowed much TV growing up, but being an 80s baby, we made sure to save up our TV time to watch the Autobots defeat the Decepticons every week.
Flash forward, just a couple of years later, and now I have kids of my own. And my oldest, H, is obsessed with all things mechanical. When we found out there was going to be a new BumbleBee movie this holiday season, I genuinely don’t know who was more excited. Especially considering mama’s favorite, John Cena, is a part of the cast!
The magic I felt when I was a kid, is still true today. And now with all the new CGI capabilities, BumbleBee literally comes alive on-screen.
Bumble Bee at Fred Meyer
When we visited Fred Meyer this past weekend, their store was PACKED full of Transformers merchandise! H and J immediately ran over and started playing with the multitude of BumbleBee and Optimus Prime figurines. I let them each pick out their favorite Transformer, and we added a few for our local Toys for Tots drive as well.

It. Was. Incredible. From mugs and water bottles and housewares, every kind of Transformer and Bumble Bee toy, to tees and pajamas for the whole family. There’s something for everyone on your list this holiday season from Hasboro at Fred Meyer! “Santa” may have picked up a Bumble Bee onesie sleeper for H. And selfishly I cant wait for him to put it on and turn into his favorite Bumble Bee transformer!
3 Bumble Bee Inspired Toddler Approved Smoothies:
One of the questions I get asked about most is in relation to the veggie-packed smoothies the boys and I drink. While we were grabbing groceries at Fred Meyer, H asked if we could make some Transformers food when we got home. I thought that was an awesome idea, and after a little brainstorming we agreed on smoothies. After all, they’re the perfect on the go power fuel for saving the world!
Naturally yellow foods are loaded with antioxidants, potassium, Vitamin C, beta-carotene and more. That beta-carotene, which our bodies convert to Vitamin A, is super important for eye health, healthy hair skin and nails, and a strong immune system. Nutrient rich yellow foods can help reduce blood pressure, and improve cardiovascular function. All of which a world-saving Autobot sidekick needs!
