Okay friends. We’ve all seen the ads on our Facebook side bars. We’ve seen the influencers sharing them. BUT what’s the deal with Daily Harvest? And is it all it’s chalked up to be? This is going to be a super honest Daily Harvest review (and don’t worry – I’ve got a discount code for you too! Use code Shynnz for $25 off.)
Daily Harvest Review:
Daily Harvest’s tagline is “organic, farm-frozen recipes delivered weekly or monthly”. So many of my favorite bloggers have been sharing about Daily Harvest, so I figured it was time to try it out myself. I ordered a mix of smoothies, harvest bowls, a latte, and an activated breakfast. My plan is to try everything and then come back and report one by one our honest thoughts.
First thoughts on Daily Harvest:

Something I already love? The fact that I can have superfood smoothies and meals for the boys and I, no thought or prep work required. Daily Harvest offers smoothies, harvest bowls, soups, lattes, overnight oats and chia parfaits. All delivered straight to your door, so you and your family can start enjoying healthy and delicious foods.
I really like that I could choose my dietary restrictions to make sure the Daily Harvest cups I was ordering worked for me. So if you’re gluten and dairy free like myself, there are a TON of options!
Literally, all you need is a freezer, and a blender. Daily Harvest is real food, unprocessed and unrefined. So it’s a quick fix you can feel good about!
A little tip: I did hear from a friend that she likes to add in chia or hemp hearts and some ice cubes to her smoothies. And when she’s not sharing with her kids, she’ll even add a little protein powder to the smoothies, lattes and oats for a little extra boost.
What I ordered from Daily Harvest + my thoughts on each:
Daily Harvest Smoothie:
Banana + greens:
The boys love bananas so this was an easy choice for them. I love how full of good for you greens this banana + greens smoothie from Daily Harvest is. I added plain, unsweetened cashew milk and blended it all up with my Ninja blender. Full disclosure, that I know I mentioned in my Instagram Stories – initial taste was a little “green”, I’m guessing because of the wheatgrass. If it had been just myself drinking, I thought it was really good. However, H told me it wasn’t his favorite.
BUT, once I added about 4 pieces of frozen pineapple and 3 prunes, that all changed. The boys DEVOURED their portions and then moved onto finishing mine! And y’all. This banana + greens smoothie is literally a superfood smoothie. So that’s a major win. Overall flavor wise, once we added the pineapple and prunes, it tasted like a tropical summer drink!
Carrot + chia
Chai + coconut
Mango + greens:
YUM. This delicious smoothie also packs a Vitamin C punch. So it’s perfect for when you’re under the weather, and for keeping your immune system strong. Mango + greens has a slight coconut flavor thanks to the coconut water, and the mango is the perfect amount. It’s sweet, but only slightly. Just enough to keep you sipping more, but without tasting like a desert. SO refreshing, and tastes truly tropical. The mix of greens to mango and camp camp is perfectly proportioned.
Little tip: The first time I drank my mango + greens, I used water and just as is. It was great, but I wanted to switch things up. So next go around I used a little vanilla coconut milk and a little regular coconut milk. I also added a half a banana that the boys left on the counter from their breakfast. And woah – it took an already delicious smoothie to a new level of yum. So try with coconut milk and a little banana next time!
Mango + papaya:
Well this legit tastes like a (delicious) summer day in a cup. The boys and I split a mango + papaya smoothie this morning for a breakfast snack, and it was sucked up quicker than I could finish asking them how they liked it. We added hemp hearts and prunes for a little added boost, along with some extra ice, and the outcome was one we will definitely be repeating.
Because J is getting over a cold, I wanted something with a good amount of Vitamin C today. This mango + papaya daily harvest smoothie is chock full of good for you vitamins, including vitamin C. With mango, papaya, pineapple, acerola cherries and macadamia nuts, not only is it good for you, but it tastes so freakin good.
Mint + cacao:
Ok. This is delicious. H picked this one to be the first one we tried this morning, and yum. It literally tastes like a mint chocolate smoothie! But much healthier, ha. It’s no wonder that this is one of their best selling smoothies. Daily Harvest says the mint + cacao is great for workout recovery, energizing cleansing and an anti-inflammatory!
I used plain coconut milk and was in heaven. My 4.5 year old and 2 year old both basically slurped it down before I could get more than 3 sips! But that’s why I ordered two! With organic spinach, cacao, banana, chlorella, mint oil, cashew butter and vanilla, I can feel good knowing the boys and I are getting clean ingredients that are great for our bodies.
Strawberry + peach:
YUM. The boys and I chose this one last night for an after dinner treat. J has had a lingering cough, so I’m trying to make sure we’re upping our Vitamin C. This strawberry + peach Daily Harvest Smoothie is SO GOOD. It has gogi berries, which have more iron than spinach and the highest protein of any fruit. So it was a perfect way to wrap up the day and keep them full and satiated all night. They also both slept until 7:45 this morning, which is an hour later than normal. So it’s officially my unicorn smoothie.
We blended this strawberry + peach Daily Harvest smoothie with some unsweetened plain macadamia nut milk and added a few ice cubes to make it almost ice cream like. They thought they were eating fro-yo! HIGHLY recommend this if you love strawberries or peach or delicious fruit smoothies. Just the right amount of natural sweet flavor, and super refreshing.
Daily Harvest Chia Parfait:
Blackberry + magik:
First off, this is probably the coolest looking breakfast! The blue magik is a superfood derived from algae, and not only gives this Daily Harvest chia parfait a ridiculously awesome blue color, but it also packs a health punch. Next time, I’m going to try adding some unsweetened dairy free milk (macadamia is my current favorite) and leave it in the fridge overnight. But this time, I just added hot water, and stirred.
If you’ve had chia pudding before, you know what consistency to expect. I LOVE chia puddings. To me, it’s like a desert, but just really good for you. This blackberry + magic Daily Harvest chia parfait is definitely going to be ordered again. The flavor was on point – definitely like a banana pudding, with a hint of blackberry. That’s it! I did add a splash of unsweetened macadamia milk, and I wish I had done more of that and less water, because it definitely made it feel more like a desert than breakfast. But in a good way! This is also incredibly filling. One cup is going to give me breakfast today, as well as at least a snack later. I could only eat about half in one sitting!
Daily Harvest Latte:
Coffee + cardamom:
This is the first Daily Harvest latte we tried. Zach needed something to grab and go, and didn’t have time to stop by Starbucks on his way to work the other morning. I warmed up one of these pods (THREE come in each cup!!), added some steamed milk, and it was ready before he was. He did let me take a sip before he headed off, and YUM. Coffee + cardamom is a creamy, rich, chai like experience. He finished all three pods within the next few days, and when he tried to go back to his old Starbucks order remarked at how dull it tasted compared to the Daily harvest latte!
We also made it iced with unsweetened vanilla almond milk, and it was amazing. The flavors are rich, it’s amazing hot, iced, or made into a smoothie. Try adding a little protein powder for a breakfast drink that will keep you full until lunch! A definite favorite!
Matcha + lemongrass
Daily Harvest Overnight Oats Activated Breakfast:
Cinnamon Protein + Banana
Mulberry + dragon fruit
Pumpkin + chai
Daily Harvest Harvest Bowl:
Beet + sesame
Brussels sprouts + tahini:
I ordered the Brussels sprouts + tahini because it was a best seller. I love Brussels sprouts, and I love turmeric, and have been super curious about these daily harvest harvest bowls since learning about the company. And it did NOT disappoint! This Brussels sprouts + tahini bowl is PACKED with incredible flavor. I already added it to our next order!
The roasted fall veggies and flavor rich lentils are perfectly finished off with tahini and turmeric and just incredible. I really enjoyed the surprise of hazelnuts! They added a crunchy aspect that definitely made this protein and fiber packed meal feel even more filling and satiating. Brussels sprouts + tahini is a vegetarian bowl, but I did add a little shredded rotisserie chicken. Which made an already amazing meal even more addicting. This might be one of my most favorite Daily Harvest tries yet! I HIGHLY recommend!
Chickpea + za’atar:
Hello delicious. So this was the first Daily Harvest Harvest Bowl that I’ve tried. And I was not disappointed. J and I inhaled this chickpea + za’atar combo. It is so full of flavor, it’s incredible. And I legitimately couldn’t believe it was Vegan. When I think Vegan, I don’t think this much flavor and spice and filling. But the one cup was way more than J and I could finish together. It’s super satiating and has TEN grams of protein, so it would be perfect for the office, for busy days when I know I’m not going to get a lot of chances to stop and eat, or really just anytime. I already added this one to my next order again! That’s how much we love it!
Califlower rice + pesto
Daily Harvest Soup:
Lentil + mesquite chili
I will most definitely be adding as I order more. I know how hard it is to order things like these online, and how helpful reviews can be. I’m hoping to be able to try one of everything Daily Harvest has to offer!
