Have you ever stumbled upon a piece of clothing while you’re out shopping, and it just speaks to you? Yeah? Well, me too, and this one was screaming my name from the clearance section at The Rack a few weeks ago. In my soul, I like to think that Stevie Nicks, Janis Joplin and I would be best friends and go on boho picnics together, and when I saw this Free People Ojai dress, it was like I finally found what I would be wearing at said picnic.

Too much? What can I say? I have an active imagination, a love for raspy voiced female singers who’s songs were a big part of my life growing up, and an obsession with perfectly flowy dresses.

When I found and fell in love with this Free People dress, I knew it would accommodate my growing baby bump thanks to the empire waist, and I loved that the woven fabric was light and breezy – perfect for the summer heat. I’m a sucker for details, and both the neckline and back of this dress are so unique and delicate that it made my heart flutter a little as I picked it up off the rack.

I hope you’re not tired of this Octavia & Co. Fringe Feather Necklace from my last Le Tote box yet (also featured here), because it’s currently one of my favorite accessories to throw on and add a little color and pizzaz to any outfit. JORD sent me this watch a few weeks ago and I love how it helps add to the natural, boho vibe I’m so into right now. I’m wearing the beautiful Cora series Koa and Rose Gold 37mm wooden watch, and I love how delicate it is – plus, that rose gold? I mean, come on! The Koa striped wood is so different than anything I own, and warm, rich tones add just the right androgynous touch to help offset the girlyness of the rose coloring and swarovski markers. I also need to give a shoutout to two incredibly talented women who helped me feel beautiful for these photos. Mariah Joy Hairstylist & Makeup Artist is basically my favorite person in the entire world. I showed her a picture of this dress and said I was going for a kind of boho glam look, and then I sat back and let her do her thing. She is a genius when it comes to making me feel gorgeous (which is no easy feat these days), and always blows me away with what she does to my hair and makeup. The magical photography is courtesy of Toni, owner of Sydney Studios Meridian, a wonderful Idaho photographer who specializes in weddings and family portraits (although I’m thinking she needs to break into the maternity photography and / or fashion photography niche as well!). The gem of a person she is, she answered an incredibly last minute request for a photoshoot – and I mean so last minute we’re talking I got home from hair / makeup, threw on my dress, ran back out to my car to meet her at her studio to take a lightening round of photos super quickly so she could make it to her son’s soccer game, all in less than 20 minutes.
