It’s been a little while since I’ve posted some fun “mommy and me” outfits, but as many of you know, photographing a toddler is no easy task. Now that I’ve found the most wonderful local photographer, I’m super excited to announce that the mama and mini style posts will be coming back – yay! To dip our toes back into the game, I want to share with you two of our current favorites: Honey Bee True Co, a small mama-run shop, and Daniel Wellington, a super classy watch company.
P.S. I feel like I might need to apologize in advance for the amount of pictures I’m about to throw at you – McKenna did such an amazing job with these that it was too hard to narrow it down to any less than what you’re going to see!
Maxi skirts are kind of my BFF right now, because, hello, 25 weeks pregnant. I bought this leopard printed swim coverup maxi dress probably like 5 years ago when we were on a trip to Seattle, and it gets more compliments than any other piece of clothing that I own. While H&M hasn’t made this style in a long time, never forget that just because something is labeled as a “dress” means you have to wear it exactly that way! One of my favorite ways to switch things up in my closet is to turn a dress into a skirt, and I think it looks adorable with a top that’s been gathered and knotted over the waist!
These Real OG tank tops were a part of Honey Bee True Co’s Mystery Box special she had a few weeks ago. I think she plans on doing it about once a month, but I highly suggest following @HoneyBeeTrueCo on Instagram to keep your eyes peeled for her next one! I gave Nicole our sizes and let her choose the tank and ink colors and I love that she made them matching so H and I can coordinate our outfits (and heck yes I plan to do that as long as he’ll let me!). The tanks are so super soft and Nicole is one of those crazy talented ladies who hand designs and hand screen prints all of her designs. She has more talent in her pinky finger than I do in my whole body, and she also just so happens to be a really rad lady!
I shared my husband’s sweet new Daniel Wellington watch in my Father’s Day Gift Guide roundup last week, and being the jealous little wifey I am, I had to get one for myself as well when I saw how insanely gorgeous his was! I never used to wear watches, because I’m a total klutz and get them caught on everything, but these Daniel Wellington watches have such a slim profile that I don’t have to worry about knocking it into anything.
I chose the Dapper Durham 38mm in Rose Gold and it gives me all the heart eyes. As an added bonus, I feel classy as you-know-what when I wear it, even if I’m still wearing the same pregnancy leggings and tank top that I wore to bed the night before, which is a total win in my book. At 38mm, it’s just oversized enough to give it a little masculinity that I like in my watches, but the style is such a classic and sophisticated look that it still looks feminine. I love the deep blue hands of the watch, especially against the rose gold casing, and the light brown Durham strap is the epitome of leather perfection.
