I am a maxi dress addict. If it’s long enough to fit my Amazonian woman frame, I’m sold. I was browsing around on Shabby Apple’s website the other day when I stumbled upon their Gala Maxi dress, and I totally fell in love. The dolman sleeves and relaxed fit had me all in a tizzy, so when Shabby Apple reached out and asked if I’d like to do a collaboration, I knew exactly which item I wanted to try for myself.
Shabby Apple is an online boutique focused on providing stylish, yet also modest clothing, and their proceeds go to benefitting women’s causes around the world. They believe that women can be beautiful and powerful, especially when they feel comfortable and polished – both of which their clothing accomplishes. If you’ve ever been to their website or checked out their Instagram, then you know that Shabby Apple’s pieces are classic, wardrobe staples, that have been updated with slight modern touches. It’s no wonder they’ve been featured in a ton of fashion blogs as well as national fashion magazines like Lucky, and People Style Watch, and their clothes are all over television shows. Their website is super easy to use, and I love all the beautiful photographs they have, showcasing all their pieces.
I love that they have such a vast selection of affordable, quality pieces for a wide age range of women. I would have happily worn many of their dresses and tops in high school (although my fashion sense wasn’t quite up to par at that point), but they’re still ‘fun’ enough to wear now at the ripe old age of 27, and I can still see myself wearing their pieces well into my years to come. Shabby Apple has a great assortment of both fitted and relaxed cuts, so no matter your preference of fit, any woman is sure to find something perfect for her!
My Gala Maxi Dress is definitely more on the looser side in regards to fit, but it’s not sloppy or frumpy at all – it somehow seems to perfectly skim everywhere it should, but also hides a pasta food baby really really well! My favorite part of the dress is probably a tie between the fabric and the details of the cut. The Gala Maxi Dress is a beautiful heathered olive color, that literally goes with everything in my closet. I have a few other army green-esque pieces in my rotation, and they always get a lot of wear because I swear olive is one of the best neutrals out there, and looks good on any skin tone.
The cut of the dress gives me all the heart eyes! The sleeves are fitted, but not enough to where I can raise my arms and throw my toddler around comfortably, and I love the dolman sleeves to make the movements a little more comfortable. The. hemline. is. awesomesauce. I love the partial slits on each side, and the scallop-esque cut – it helps elevate it from a basic maxi dress, to something a little ‘more’, which is a perfect example of what Shabby Apple does with all of their clothing. I can definitely see myself tieing up one end of the hem in an knot to add a little extra je ne sais quoi, especially this summer!
Because I love Shabby Apple so much, I’m teaming up with them to give one of YOU the chance to win a $50 gift card to their shop!! Entering is super easy – just follow the directions in the Rafflecopter below, and then feel free to head over to this picture on my Instagram to grab a few more entries!
