NuMe’s curling wands and styling tools have been everywhere across Instagram and the blogosphere. Cara Loren is a huge fan of their wands and uses them to get her signature gorgeous unicorn hair, so when NuMe contacted me about doing a test run of one of their products, I was elated. I have been lusting (no pun intended) after one of their styling tools in particular, the Lustrum, which is the perfect tool for the minimalist I’m trying to become. Normally $249, you can get the NuMe Lustrum for just $99 with free shipping by following this link and using code STYLES2016!
I am no hair expert by any means, but I do know that I usually stick to air drying my natural curls and waves, because it takes me for-ev-ver to do anything to it. I had heard wonderful things about NuMe’s curling wands from friends who have thick hair like myself, so I started playing around with the Lustrum the minute it arrived at my house. Spoiler alert: I was not disappointed.
Specs wise: Nume’s Lustrum looks like something that belongs in a legit professional stylists bag. When you open the tube, all five curling wands and base come in a roll up carrying case, and there’s even a heat resistant glove included as well. I never used to understand the need for a heat glove, as I’ve always used those curling irons that have the clip that tends to leave a dent in my hair, so there’s no contact. Well, I quickly learned that with the new and improved clip-free style, fingers have a tendency to get hot very quickly, especially for beginners such as myself, so the heat resistant glove is my new best friend.
The Lustrum comes with five wand barrels: the 19mm, 25mm, 32mm, Reverse wand and Pearl wand, and one base, so you’re getting a ton of tools and looks in one. I use the 25mm and 32mm the most currently, but I’m beginning to love the Pearl wand the more I practice with it. When I was looking at NuMe’s options for curling wands, I was having the hardest time deciding between the 25mm and 32mm wands for my new(ish) mom chop. I wanted a wand that would be good for everyday waves that wouldn’t over-curl, and would be easy enough for me to do my hair in a short amount of time. I am so glad I decided to go with the Lustrum set, because while I’ve only tried three of the five barrels so far, I love the results it gives me.
One thing that surprised me the most was how easy the Lustrum is to use. All I do is insert the barrel into the base, twist to lock it in place, plug it in and flip the switch, and within seconds, the Lustrum is ready to go (which blows the 60-ish second heat up time of my other curling iron). I played around with wrapping styles and am getting into the groove, but it gets easier and easier every time, which also means it’s a quicker process each time I use them as well. My first time using the Lustrum, it probably took me about 25 minutes with the 32mm barrel – I was super precise about piecing out 1-2 inch sections and curling them opposite ways, and I got beautiful romantic waves that lasted almost three full days, which was really impressive. Now, I am a little more haphazard about the process, and don’t worry as much about being precise, but I still get my long lasting waves and I almost like the more natural waves that I get from the random curling more!
My hair is naturally pretty dry, so I’m very strict with my hair care, and one thing I worried about with the (up to) 410* temperature was the possibility that it would dry my hair out even more and damage it. However, the Lustrum’s tourmaline-infused ceramic coated barrels that use both infrared heat and negative ion therapy technologies are very gentle on my hair, and even with using it multiple times a week over the last month, it hasn’t damaged or overworked my hair at all!
I cannot recommend NuMe’s styling tools enough. I seriously might start shouting my love for them from the rooftops, because I’ve never had such quick results that last for so long, even without hairspray! Now that I’m set on curling wands with my amazing Lustrum styling set, I think next up will be replacing my straightener and blow dryer with Nume products.

On Black Friday I ordered a Nume Wand. It was the pearl one (which it looks like yours has the attachment for) and I haven't tried it yet, but the deal was too good to pass up! I got it for like $9.99 which was about $120 off haha!
I have a blow dryer from NuMe and I LOVE it. So good!
Nume makes such good products!
I got a wand for such a great deal during Black Friday.

It has been a long time since I curled my hair. Mine is very wavy so I tend to straighten it.
Awesome! I think that's the best curling iron I've seen in years. I love that it has different barrels for different types of curls. You don't have to figure out how to curl your hair this way or that way anymore.
the num.'s lustrum wand looks awesome and sounds easy to use. i will have to try it out
My hair is naturally curly but this might help tame them and make them look more refined!
I would love to try these, I've never had curly hair 🙂
I'd love to try this. Curls seem to never stay in my hair.
I need a good curling iron. Thanks for sharing info about this one.
The NuMe brand sounds like a good one for ladies, and I for one dont do much for my hair. Its time to change that coz I really dont like Braiding it. So curling my locks has been a long art…! I need me a good product for that!
Well I wear locks so not too sure how this would apply to me. Looks like a pretty nifty tool though
I like that you can make different looks with the curls too. It'd be worth investing in for sure.
This looks cool. Although I prefer that my hair is long and straight, there are times that I want it curly. O would love to have this curler.
It is a perfect tool! I like my straight hair, but sometimes it would be nice to make it a bit wavy
These could not be used in my hair but I can see how useful they would be for those with straight hair.
I wonder if that would work for me. I have wavy hair that's a pain in the butt to manage, but maybe I just need to learn how.
This is an awesome, multi-styling tool! I love when things can serve more that one purpose!
Honestly i never heard about Numes but it looks that they have a good products. I want to curl my hair
What a great product I want one for myself, i've never heard of this particular brand but the seem to be pretty cool
I have been thinking about getting a wand. I have never heard of this brand before…
I love the ceramic coating so hair is not damaged. My girls curl there hair all the time. I love your review and I need to seek this out for them
