I am a total sucker for adorable mama and mini tees, especially when they coordinate just so, and they are gender neutral enough for H to wear as well. I found Learn Live Hope Apparel on Instagram about a year ago on Black Friday, I think, and have enjoyed following along with the shop ever since! Learn Live Hope Apparel is a “positive lifestyle brand aimed at providing unique apparel for infants, children, and women” and Angela, the the owner and designer behind the brand, is holding that statement very true!
Angela, a Colorado native, is an Army wife, and mom to a spunky 21 month old. Before having her son, Angela was a preschool teacher, but after having her son she decided to become a Stay at Home Mom. She has been an avid proponent of small shopping, especially after her son was born, and when he was 8 months old, Angela decided to create her own brand! Her adorable son is hands down the inspiration behind her shop – every single design is inspired by him and her daily life as his mother. She has always been a creative person, flowing with ideas and she figured that a mommy and me brand would be the perfect outlet for her creativity after becoming a mom. Fashion is something that Angela has always enjoyed and she says that the small shop community is “just so special and filled with amazing talent”, and I’d have to agree. I am so happy she decided to take the leap into her own business, because her new women’s Made of Magic (MOM) tee and mini’s Believe in Magic tee that H and I have are so ridiculously cute together, I can’t even.
While I am totally enamored with our MOM and BiM tees, all of Angela’s designs are special to her for various reasons. However, if she had to pick, there are three that stand out to her:
- The Be Yourself design, because it was her first, and conveys a message that she always wants her son to always live by.
- She also adores the Adventure design, because it perfectly represents her favorite thing to do with her son.
- And finally, the Tiny Tornado design, because as Angela admits, that is the daily struggle as a mom and totally apropos for most, if not all, kiddos.
Learn Live Hope comes from the saying “Learn from yesterday. Live for today. Hope for tomorrow.” Angela’s husband was injured during his 2nd deployment, and he lost his left leg. They were in the middle of his rehab and recovery when she came across this quote, and it sort of became her life motto from then on. So when Angela was in the process of choosing a shop name, Learn Live Hope was an easy and natural fit.
Organization is Angela’s middle name! While she admits that her organization is somewhat on the brink of OCD to a point of being obnoxious at times, she also credits that for being able to handle the balance of business and home life well. She tries to time manage, prioritize and definitely makes the most out of both nap time and after the little goes to bed to get it all done. Angela’s husband was deployed for the last 8 months so it gave her more time to focus on building her business when she was alone every evening.
When she’s not busy running Learn Live Hope Apparel, you can usually find Angela with her son. Summer is their favorite because they both love getting out to parks, the zoo, and going for walks. As winter settles in, Angela and her little bookworm have been reading a ton, which is one of H’s favorite things too! In the free time she does get, she enjoys reading, especially Nicholas Sparks, and is admittedly a bit of a reality TV junky. If she ever decided to take her karaoke on the road to try out for The Voice, Angela would have a really hard time deciding between basically any country song, ever. When country music comes on, it’s a full blown song and dance fest – a total girl after my own heart!
