My hair has a mind of it’s own.
If I’m lucky, and use just the right products in just the right order, it’ll cooperate with me. However, unfortunately that doesn’t happen very often, so when I had the chance to test out Hask’s new Argan Oil products I was super psyched!
Before I had H, my hair was super thick and wonderful, but postpartum did a number on my poor locks! I’ve mentioned before that my hair has super thinned out (hence why I chopped off almost 7 inches of sad, stringy locks), and I’ve been trying shampoo and conditioner system after system to try to bring back some of the body and bounce I miss. Have you looked at the price of most high-end shampoo / conditioner / hair treatments lately? It’s expensive! And as a stay at home mom with one household income, it gets hard to justify spending crazy amounts on hair products month after month.
After chatting with Hask, I headed over to their website to check out all of their products and (as a self-proclaimed cheapskate) the first thing I noticed was how affordable and budget friendly their products were – everything I looked at was under SIX DOLLARS! That is a tiny tiny fraction of what other brands were charging!
I started to use Hask Beauty’s Argan Oil hair system about two and a half weeks ago, and even after the first shower I noticed a huge difference, especially in how soft my hair felt!
The first time I used Hask’s Argan Oil collection, I wanted to see what my results would be like just using the shampoo and conditioner by themselves, because this is the ‘bread and butter’, if you will, of the system.
Hask Beauty’s Argan Oil Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner are both formulated to strengthen and restore your locks, and are ideal for dry, damaged, and / or color treated hair. Hask says that their Argan Oil infused shampoo “penetrates the hair shaft, gently cleansing while it repairs damage and breakage, leaving even the most rebellious hair frizz-free, silky-soft and super glossy”. And touts the Argan Oil infused conditioner “penetrates the hair shaft, gently softening and detangling while protecting against damage and breakage, leaving even the most rebellious hair frizz-free, silky-soft and super glossy.” These are some pretty big claims, so I had very high expectations, and I’m happy to say they lived up to them!
After shampooing, I left Hask’s conditioner on while I finished the rest of my shower and then made sure to do a quick shot of cold water after rinsing the conditioner out thoroughly with warm water. Even while I was rising out the conditioner I noticed how incredibly soft my hair felt – it was seriously like running silk over my hands, and I was really excited to let my hair air dry naturally to see what it would feel like once it was dry.
Having curly hair, knots and tangles are usually just something I deal with, because nothing I’ve tried so far has been able to keep them away, so imagine my surprise when I was able to rake my fingers from root to tip through my hair once it had dried! That silky feel from the shower was still there, and I had to stop myself from petting my hair because it felt so nice (and because apparently petting your head in the wine section of Trader Joes will illicit more than one weird look from strangers, or so I’ve heard).
AND because both the shampoo and conditioner (as well as the deep conditioner and shine treatment) are free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, drying alcohols and artificial colors, not only do I trust it on my hair, but I use it for my son’s growing curls as well! We were finishing up the last of his baby shampoo that we received as gifts from his baby shower, so when I used this on him this week I was shocked at how different his hair looked! He had this one little almost dreadlock at the nape of his neck that I was having the hardest time getting rid of, because it kept getting more and more matted from rubbing on his amber teething necklace and the collars of his shirts, and after one use of both the shampoo and conditioner I was able to comb through it!
Now that the Hask shampoo and conditioner had me hooked, I decided to add in the shine treatment. Hask claims that it’s lightweight Argan Oil Shine Treatment “absorbs instantly to provide frizz-free shine without leaving an oily residue”. Having only used Moroccan Oil previously, which is a less pure form of Argan Oil, I knew kind of what to expect, but wasn’t sure what the difference would be. The difference, apparently, is huge. I’m guessing that since Hask uses super pure Argan Oil, which is rich in essential fatty acids, it was able to help repair all the damage I’ve been doing to it by styling it so much since the big chop. My poor little ends have started splitting from the curling and straightening iron abuse I’ve been putting it through, so one of the first things I noticed was how much nicer my ends looked!
The only thing I haven’t tried yet is the deep conditioner, because, if I’m being honest, I kept forgetting about getting it out to use since my hair is already looking so much healthier and more moisturized. Plus, now that I’m getting a cut and color in two days, I want to wait until after I get my hair dyed to use it, because I know that’ll be a great time to try it out.
I am officially a Hask Beauty Argan Oil convert! Overall, I am incredibly impressed with the difference I’ve been seeing in my hair. The fact that their shampoo and conditioner alone has made my hair so much softer and more manageable is huge, and then when you add in the shine treatment the results speak volumes. I also love that the ingredients are so pure and safe for everyone in the family.
My sad postpartum hair now has so much more bounce and shine, and I’m curious to see what my hairstylist says when I go in later this week. She usually does a deep conditioning treatment at the salon because of how dry my hair was, so this time around I wonder if she’ll even suggest it now that my hair is so much healthier. (That also means I’ll be saving $35 from not getting the deep conditioning treatment on top of the money I’m saving on Hask’s super budget friendly prices!)
Hask Beauty’s Argan Oil Repairing Shampoo, Conditioner, Shine Treatment and Deep Conditioner are ALL going on my must-have list. Curly hair, dry hair, damaged hair, sad hair in general – it all needs Hask! Plus, at only SIX DOLLARS each for the shampoo and conditioner and THREE DOLLARS each for the shine and deep conditioning treatments, you can actually afford the entire line and indulge in the wonderful ‘liquid gold’ of Argan Oil!

I still haven't done the mask yet, because my hair is seriously so much softer and moisturized just from the shampoo and conditioner, but it's on my Sunday to-do list for myself 🙂 That's great that it worked so well for you!

Totally get what what you mean about postpartum hair – I used to have great hair, and now it is totally ridiculous! Juts wait until you stop nursing – mine is falling out by the bunch, and I thought it was already super thin post birth. Cant believe how cheap these products are – will def be checking them out, as currently paying a small fortune for mine!

I've tried a Hask hot oil treatment and I really liked it. The Vo5 hot oil treatments don't really work on my hair.
