Hello September!
I don’t know about you, but I am so ready for the crunchy leafs and crisp weather of fall. Plaids, layering, jeans and booties – oh my how I have missed you so! On Monday I gave you guys a little intro to Cherry & Vine, but today I’m giving you the full inside scoop on Erin and Taisia, the two mamas behind the Etsy shop! Erin and Taisia are both moms from the same area who love doing hair and used to work together at a salon. While they loved what they were doing, they both wanted to be home with their kids more. They also both lamented over the fact that when you go to wineries and look in their gift shops, there was a lot to be desired (unless cap sleeves and rhinestones are your thing), and they knew the world needed a fresh twist on the wine lovers tees that were floating around.
One night while having a mom’s night in, they were literally eating pizza and drinking champagne “one funny quote about wine led to another plus more champagne and we were like lets put this on a shirt”! With Taisia’s background in graphic design and experience in selling on Etsy, it was easy for the two of them to get a shop up and running. They wanted a name that was “sweet and somewhat related to wine without putting us in a category of wine. We may want to add some stuff down the line that’s not but the wine stuff is going so good we haven’t started that yet.” Because of their background in the beauty industry, they have always had to look nice and keep up with the latest trends, so moving into fashion was inevitable!
Awesomely enough, Erin is currently 27 weeks pregnant and Taisia is 16 weeks, and they are both having girls! They don’t post about it on their business page, because they would never want anyone to get the impression that they imbibe while pregnant, but they are so excited for their new little bundles! In a few months, they’ll both be back to rocking their wine lovers tees and tanks, but for now they think they look a little silly in them with bumps!
Erin and Taisia’s biggest mentor in this has been Sarah Komers from Weestructed on Instagram. Erin says “I know her on a personal level and she has answered so many questions for us. Since she has been through it all she gives me shortcuts!! Also I am really loving women who love wine on Instagram, her post are hysterical and she has helped us with giveaways and followers.”
Taisia is already a mama to two, and Erin already has one little, and I don’t know how they do it! I can barely keep my head above water most days as a SAHM to one! Both had kiddos start kinder this year, Erin teaches preschool two days a week and Taisia teaches gymnastics two days a week, besides doing hair – so to say they are stretched thin is an understatement. While they both acknowledge that balance is hard, like, really hard, they definitely balance each other out, and they each have their ‘jobs’ within the business. Most of their nights are focused on the business, Taisia does all the graphic design and Erin handles the social part, so teamwork is huge!
Other than the Champagne & Pizza tee I’m rocking in these photos, the Red Wine and Bleu tank is one of my other favorites (thank goodness for my discount code!), and its been Erin and Taisia’s favorite too! They love how they turned out and have had a great response to them! They have had so much fun with this new journey so far and they love seeing everyones reactions to their pieces!
