This is the same “With You I am Home” tank from the last post, just styled slightly differently, and I’m not ashamed to admit that it’s in heavy rotation, so it gets worn a lot. Changing it up with a little black floppy hat, some layered necklaces and skinny jeans creates a whole new vibe, and I actually wore this out to a date night with my husband this past weekend because he liked it so much!
I usually try to only wear it if H is going to be wearing his coordinating “home is where mom is” tee, but I think this tank can be worn for more than just describing motherhood, but also wifehood. When our relationship started getting more serious, and we were each traveling a lot separately, I remember us talking about how ‘home is a person, not a place’. I think that’s when I knew – I have always been fiercely independent, so when I started missing him as soon as I left, and wishing I was with him again, it was a very weird albeit welcome feeling. That’s part of the reason we decided to get married sooner than we anticipated after we got engaged. When you find the other person in this world who you can’t imagine life without, you kind of want to get that life together started as soon as possible.
I chose a person to spend the rest of my life with, and no matter where we’re living, with him I am home.
This bag is one of my new favorites because I can wear it as a cross body, over the shoulder, or on my wrist, and it fits a ton of c-r-a-p in it (which the Mary Poppins inside me loves). Specifically, it can fit a water bottle, a Gatorade, a large bag of Kettle Corn, Swedish Fish, 3 Donuts, grapes, a wallet and cell phone and still have room to spare. I can’t be the only one who packs the most unhealthy treats ever when they go to movies – right?
