Happy Monday! This is going to be a long and very anxious and crazy week over here in the LPG household becuzzzzz we may or may not be moving into our own home [insert crazy face emoji here]! As you may recall from my Whats Up Wednesday post, we’ve only been searching for an apartment for the past week, so this is kind of a huge surprise for everyone.
It was the craziest thing, and we’re both still pretty shocked that its really (almost) happening. We went out Saturday morning to look at the cutest apartment that was affordable, *gasp* updated, and in an awesome location, albeit a little on the smaller side, and were all ready to fill out the application and start the move in process, when my mom told us about an open house. We drove over to the house from the apartment and it was all over from there.
I have never been very fond of new builds. Yes, I think they’re pretty, but I love the character and history of older houses. I love thinking that by moving into a place where so many wonderful memories were made, we get to add to the home’s happy history, which makes this house we toured even more surprising. It’s a brand brand new build. Like, so new the screens haven’t even been put in the windows yet. So now, our family will *hopefully* be the first to bless this house with many happy memories.
When the Hubs, H and I walked in, it was like a huge weight had been lifted off of our shoulders. It just felt right. If you’ve ever been house hunting, you know what I’m talking about. It checks off so many of our “must haves” on our perfect home list, and there’s no chance of us outgrowing it, unless we decide to have 500 kids, which I don’t think is on either of our bucket lists…
After Zach and I left the open house, I brought my mom back over and she may have fallen in love with it more than we did. I don’t think her mouth closed the entire time we walked around, and she agreed it’d be perfect for our family. She even made a joke that she couldn’t wait to move in with us – not funny, mom. But, if we get it, we will have a room for her to stay over *occasionally* 😉
With this home, I could have a designated office, H could have a designated play room, and the Hubs and I would finally get my walk-in closet and en suite bathroom with his and hers sinks. All the heart eyes for this house! There is enough room on the porch for us to get a swing so we can all sit together and watch the summer storms like I did with my parents. WE WOULD HAVE A DINING ROOM! I know, what’s the big deal about a room with a table and chairs? Considering we don’t really have one now and we didn’t have one in our last house – it’s kind of sort of a really huge deal for us.
Don’t get me wrong – more days than not, living with my parents has been a blessing. Getting to watch my parents with H has been awesome. I am so glad they’ve been able to experience so much of his first almost 14 months of life, and see so many of his firsts, and get so many sweet snuggles, but it’s time. The walls are beginning to feel like they’re closing in, and while my parent’s house is beautiful, they have far too many expensive and breakable things (which of course is exactly what H gravitates towards), so this would be an amazingly awesomely incredibly perfect opportunity for us! The offer was made on Saturday late afternoon, and our offer was officially signed and submitted Sunday night, so while nothing is for sure yet, we are super hopeful. We’re going to be on pins and needles all week!
If you have any to spare – send us happy deal making wishes!
1) your outfit is so cute. I love that headband. Wish I could pull that off.

Pardon my saying, but there aren't many more things sexier than a plain white T-Shirt!
