Maren Stacked Heel Suede Bootie: Sole Society
This past weekend was a crazy whirlwind of a trip to Portland and we’re still recovering. H has a serious case of FOMO (fear of missing out) so naps were not happening and we were go-go-going so much that bedtime got pushed way back. The poor dude was running on fumes by the time we got home yesterday and didn’t even move a muscle on the move from the carseat to his crib.
Trying to keep up with a 12 month old who’s chasing after his 5 and 6 year old cousins who are trying to keep up with their 25 year old uncle is not for the faint of heart. Like, I don’t actually know how I’m still standing at this point. I was running on apple pie and coffee by our Sunday morning flight.
I was so over pants and sweaters after the dreary weather we’ve been having, that when we were surprised with a gorgeous and sunny day, I knew I had to let my legs out of hiding and pull out some lighter layers. I’m convinced that a black and white shift dress needs to be in every woman’s wardrobe – it’s SO easy to dress up or down, and you can virtually throw on anything overtop and it’ll work.
If you’re following me on Instagram, you’ll see that I pretty much wear one of these necklaces from The Vintage Honey Shop’s Etsy Shop every day. There are so many beautiful options, and they’re great for teething, nursing, and bottle fed little ones alike! Jen and Mel, the two mamas behind the shop, handmade every necklace and check, double check, and triple check each one to make sure it’s up to their high standards. H and I have been wearing these since H was around 3 months and they are amazing at keeping his sharp nails and rough hands off of my face and hair while he’s nursing or while I’m wearing him in the LILLEbaby. Check out their Instagram, Facebook, or Etsy shop for all the glorious options.
Uuugh, who is this big kiddo?! Look at all those teeth! One of his new favorite things is to grind his top teeth against his bottom – genuinely the worst noise in the entire world. Nails on a chalkboard / Fran Drescher’s voice, Pitbull’s songs – they all have nothing on the sound that emanates from a baby’s toddler’s teeth. It’s a good thing he’s cute, because I’m surprised my ears haven’t started bleeding yet…
Everything H is wearing came from an IG shop! This adorable “Why” tee is Mama Said Tee’s newest addition and they have a hilarious coordinating “Because I said so” tee for mom so you can twin with your little! Their tees are so soft and they hold up great in the wash!
You know I love Mallory’s shop, Rad Revolution, and she did it again with another perfectly modern print with this teether. With all of H’s new teeth he has coming in, we never leave home without one of her Taggie Teethers! A little tip – sometimes I’ll wet the teether’s fabric ears and put it in the refrigerator, and H seems to love how it feels on his sore teeth and gums.
I saw these Hunter Green Stag Leggings in Little Boy Blue’s shop and thought they were way too cool for school. They fit H’s long legs and chunky thighs and fluffy bum perfectly, which is no easy task. Little Boy Blue just opened up shop and I’m so excited to see more from her! Make sure you follow her on Facebook and Instagram, and keep an eye out at the beginning of March for some exciting things we’re working on π
Of course, I had to throw these favorite Freshly Picked moccasins on his little sausage feet. Do you see his little foot prints?! Aaahhh… so precious! FP have been the only company so far that I’ve been impressed with, as far as the quality of the workmanship and leather.
How was your weekend? Has the weather started getting warmer where you are?

This is seriously so freakin cute I can't take it. I now NEED a jean jacket for my little guy (who is also 12 months!!) My son has been grinding his top teeth against his bottom ones for the past week or so and it really is the WORST NOISE EVER. I beg him not to do it all day long, but sadly he doesn't understand me or doesn't care haha.

I found it at Savers thrift store when I was pregnant and they were having a huge 50% off sale so I think I paid MAYYYYYYBE $3 for it? It is sooooo cute! Haha, dang babies – why can't they just listen to us?! π

Omg your little fella is so sweet! I love his whispy hair!
Shannon says
Ha, thank you! His hair is crazy, that's for sure, but it never wants to stay how I attempt to style it, so I just let it go π

Your pictures are just gorgeous, your style is so fun and functional π Have you tried making your photos original size? They are pretty small against your blog and they should stand out!! π
Shannon says
Lauren for some reason I have always been sizing down because I was worried they'd be too big and obtrusive, but now that I took your advice I really like that they make more of an impact! Thank you so much for the advice! Since I'm just starting out I love learning all that I can about what will look the best π

Freshly Picked moccs are the cutest! I can't wait till I have kids and can dress them super cute like this. I love it all!

Cute, cute style both on you and your little guy! The casual layering and green & blue theme is cute, and I love the idea of having jewelry that can comfort (and occupy) your kid. Genius, I'll have to definitely look into this if/when I'm lucky enough to be a mama (still trying, it's been a long journey so far). π Great looks for both of you!
