Back in March, my family and I had the opportunity to do a Spring family maternity shoot on the beach. Brittney Saulque Photography was incredible from the get-go. She made us feel so comfortable from the second we met her! And despite J wanting nothing to do with pictures and H only wanting to play in the water, she was able to create serious magic for us. California Beach Summer Family Maternity Photoshoot Fun fact, Brittney and I have been following each other on Instagram for YEARS now. So when we moved to California and realized we’d be in the same state, I got super excited. Brittney just has such a beautiful eye when it comes to photography. The images that she captured for us are perfect. I feel like they are so ethereal, despite being on a majorly crowded beach. And they just show so much joy! We headed over to the beach at the Santa Monica Pier for a super casual family maternity shoot. One of the coolest things? A seal came up at the end of the session!
Kylie Powers Photography came over a few weeks ago to take family photos. I had met Kylie on Instagram and fell in love with her work. Her tones are beautiful. And I love how she seemed to capture real, authentic moments. I think its so beautiful when a photographer can kind of “fade” into the background and let families be themselves. Don’t get me wrong, I totally believe there’s a time and a place for posed photography. But for our family, posed usually ends up a disaster, ha. Kylie immediately made the boys feel comfortable around her, and even got them head banging! She was just amazing at letting us do our thing. If you’re in the Treasure Valley, Idaho area and looking for a photographer to capture some beautiful moments – give Kylie Powers Photography a call! Fall In Home Family Lifestyle Photoshoot I am SO in love with how these turned out! It was such a special time for us. Zach and I knew we were pregnant. And at the time we knew I was pregnant with twins. This little secret we shared, just the two of us. I genuinely feel like Kylie was able to show the genuine […]
I know I’ve already shared a few photos from my maternity photoshoots before. But I can’t believe I left this one out! Talk about feeling like a beautiful princess, holy cow. Edith, of ELM Photography Idaho took me to the Idaho Penitentiary this time around for my maternity photos. And it was SO perfect! The flowers, the greenery, the grasses and stone and architecture. Yes, yes, yes. Thankfully, Edith is not only a talented photographer, but a licensed hair and makeup artist as well. Which also meant that not only did I get fantastic pictures of my pregnant self, but I got dolled up too! Because the dress was so light and ethereal, Edith wanted to do something dramatic with my photoshoot makeup. She gave me the most gorgeous smoky eyes and dark lip that would not quit (in the best way possible). And she made my hair look perfectly coifed with beautifully soft curls. Idaho Garden Maternity Photo Shoot Sew Trendy Accessories Sheer Bailey Maternity Gown This. Dress. Is. Perfection. Seriously. I am not a fan of showing my pregnant belly. Like, ever. I’m fine when others do it, but it just seems so intimate for myself. I know […]
If there’s ever a time in your life you need to feel beautiful, it’s when you’re pregnant. Maternity photos are a time to embrace your inner goddess and turn up the glamor. And that’s just what Edith did to this very tired and very pregnant mom. Edith is one of those amazing photographers who can do it all. She not only takes beautiful pictures and edits them perfectly, but she also has an incredible collection of maternity gowns and is a licensed hair and makeup artist. Yeah. Talk about being the Beyonce of the photography business! So not only did she walk around downtown Boise for a maternity photoshoot with yours truly, but she got me all dolled up and made me feel like a million bucks while doing it. Now, if she could just come live with me, so I could always feel that beautiful, that would be great… This set of maternity pictures is definitely a different vibe than the light breezy pregnancy photos ELMPhotography and I took previously. This time it was much more vavavoom, and we switched up the setting for an urban feel. Downtown glamorous Fall maternity photoshoot Because we still wanted that romantic vibe for these […]
I will never not have a newborn photoshoot. I will hold these photos so dear for as long as my eyes can see. Photos help me remember all the sweet little details. The tiny little finger nails, his wrinkly little skin, and tiny button nose. The way his breathing sounds, the irregular little snores. And the way he still seems like such a novelty to his older brother. I even remember how tired I was that morning. Dosing my eyes with Visine to remove the sleepy redness. Losing count as to how long I had held my hair around the curling wand. When H was born, I had a friend of a friend come over to take pictures. She had just kind of started her photography business not too far before then, and what I had seen of her work I loved. Flash forward 2.5 years and when it came time to find a newborn photographer for our rainbow baby, there was no question as to who I would ask. Laken Fulton Photography is amazing. She got my crazy toddler to pay attention to photos and SMILE. And captured some of the sweetest interactions between H and his new brother. Forewarning – there […]
Three weeks ago, Sarah from Shutter Happy Photography came over to do a Fresh 48 newborn lifestyle photoshoot for us, and I love how she captured our little growing family! Sarah was also the amazing eye behind my birth photography, and I’m so thankful for her talent and her time spent with us. Looking at these newborn lifestyle pictures of my boys and I, those 19 days ago, its crazy to think how much has already changed. Baby J was almost a week old in these photos, and he already looks so different and has chunked up so much! He was born at 8lbs 14oz, but at my midwife appointment yesterday they weighed him to see how big he’s gotten, and at 3 weeks 3 days old he was 12lbs 2oz! Adjusting to life with two little ones has been anything but easy, and I still feel like I’m totally out of my element. I get J and H dressed every day, but I’m still basically living in yoga pants and tees that are easy to breastfeed in and I can change out of easily when they get inevitably get covered in breastmilk and newborn pee. I feel chaotic and […]
