Cuddle + Kind: The small shop hand-knit dolls that are fighting childhood hunger worldwide and providing sustainable fair trade wages for women. The minute I learned of cuddle + kind, I knew I had to be a part of their work. I’d like to think that I’ve always been a compassionate person, but since becoming a mother it has increased 10 fold, especially when it comes to children. Innocent, sweet, genuine little humans who have done no wrongs to this world, deserve no wrongs done unto them. It hurts my heart to think of all the children who are going without breakfast or lunch or dinner, and not for the first time. Derek and Jen Woodgate were compelled to make a difference in the fight against childhood hunger. And so cuddle + kind was created, to fill “hearts and bellies around the world.” Cuddle + kind dolls are the only handcrafted, knitted dolls that help feed children around the world. For every cuddle + kind doll sold, they give 10 meals to children in need! “With a background in health, we recognize the crucial role nutrition plays in a child’s development. As parents, we believe all children should […]

Toddler Approved Peach Smoothie I’ve shared some of our favorite toddler approved green smoothies before, but I like to mix it up for H every so often so he doesn’t get bored of his daily drink. He’s definitely starting to get more picky about what he will and won’t eat, so a smoothie is a great way to sneak in some healthy goodness to what he thinks is just a sweet and yummy snack! My parents took H to a vineyard and fruit orchard this past weekend, so we are swimming in peaches. I’m definitely not complaining as peaches are basically the best summer fruit out there, but my waistline is hurting after enjoying so many of the peach crumbles that we love, so it was time to mix it up and enjoy them in a little healthier of a way.
Mama // Necklace: gift from The Vintage Honey Shop // Tee: The LB Brand // Skirt: Stitch Fix // Boots: Dolce Vita // Sunglasses: Subsidy Shades H // Tee: Tribe is Alive (available at Shop Dinkys) // Shorts: gift from Shop Dinkys // Moccasins: gift from Tiny Wears Thank goodness it’s Fri-yay! This has been such a long week and I’m pretty ready for it to be over already. H has been super super fussy lately and is needing to be held constantly or else he goes into meltdown mode which makes for one exhausted mama. I couldn’t figure out why he seemed so ‘off’ until I was brushing his teeth yesterday and saw the bottom of a giant molar sticking out of his upper gums – aha! After looking around for the 1.5 seconds more he let me before trying to bite my finger off, I discovered all 4 of his molars are showing their mean little heads. Apparently that’s why he’s been giving Niagara Falls a run for its money in the drooling department and why he’s been chewing on everything like it’s going out of style (this is when my teething + nursing necklaces from […]

Toddler Approved Green Smoothie Recipe Ideas: If you follow me on Instagram, you know that H hasn’t always been the best eater. At our recent 15 month checkup, his pediatrician asked me to really start pushing solids. He said at this age, H needs to be nursing less and eating more ‘real’ food. While he has gotten so so so much better (seriously though, it was like a light went off the next day and he decided he did, in fact, like to eat), I have found that if I make a smoothie, he’ll run off with it and suck it down by the time I find him hiding in the laundry room corner. I started using my Nutribullet (my favorite of all 4 of my blenders) to make him a giant batch of a fruit and veggie smoothie in the morning and refill his Nuby No Spill™ Two Handle Super Straw Grip N Sip™ as he finishes them throughout the day! This Nuby No Spill so far is my favorite cup for […]
