March Stitch Fix Maternity Try On + Review
Status update: Still on the hunt for the perfect maternity denim and some comfortable maxi dresses to get me through the rest of my pregnancy. Last month I decided to start utilizing Stitch Fix again. (See that unboxing + try on here) And I’m glad I did! I found the cutest floral maternity dress that is perfect for everyday and date nights.
This time I knew I was going into my third trimester and was about to get really uncomfortable. Leaving the house to go shopping with two very active dudes is just not in the cards these days. So I love services like Stitch Fix where they do it all for me!
Plus, for the next 48 hours, if you go through my Stitch Fix referral link, you get a $35 credit instead of the normal $25!
This was my feedback last time:
“This did not quite feel like me. I’ll update my profile, but please no more waterfall cardigans, and no more full panel jeans. I’m going to schedule another fix, but I’d really love to find the perfect maternity jeans that do not have full panel. I really only like dark washes, with no whiskering / striping. And no more kimonos. I’d love more natural fibers if possible please.”
Tribal Amelia Lattice Detail Dress
Size: M $48
The idea of this dress was really cute. And for someone more petite than I am, I imagine it would be really flattering. However, with my pear shape and the way I’m carrying my weight this pregnancy, it just didn’t work for me. I’m much more of a maxi dress kind of gal this go around than mid-thigh length dresses.
Full Moon Peppy Maternity French Terry Knit Top
Size: M $44
I wish this had a sliiiiiightly deeper V cut on the neckline. I loved the Terry knit fabric! It’s definitely thicker than the Target rouched V neck tees I have, which is awesome. It feels really wonderful, and well made. And I love the fact that it’s an actual short sleeve instead of just the little cap sleeves I’ve tried before. Rouched tees are my jam, because I love that I can mess around to cover up any lumps and bumps my pants may give my now-wider hips. I think it’s just incredibly flattering! This is one I’m debating back and forth on. I really like it! But will the too high V neck bug me too much?
Verdict: Not sure!
T4T Ani Drawstring Jogger Pant
Size: M $44
I’m so torn on these! They are ridiculously comfortable. And the fabric is a total dream. Super soft and smooth and almost silky, but with a stretchy knit and no sheen. They feel luxurious! But I cant get them to sit right on my hips. I’m thinking maybe I’d like them more if they were a larger size? This is something I’m struggling with majorly in this pregnancy, since my bottom half has expanded so much. And because I’m so self conscious of my thighs this go around, having something like this that is so clingy to my thighs, but a little more relaxed on my calves I’m just not sure if they’re the most flattering.
Verdict: RETURN (but possibly asking to try a similar style in a larger size!)
Renee C Tenor Maternity Pleat Front Blouse
Size: M $54
When I first saw this in the Fix, I went “uhhhh”. But! I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it on! I actually really liked the cut and the fit. However, it just doesn’t make sense for me right now. As a work from home mom, I rarely need something this dressy. And while I loved the pattern and neutral colors, it was just too thin / see through. So I do wish that it had been more substantial of a fabric.
Paige Verdugo Maternity Skinny Jean
Size: 30 $199
LOVE LOVE LOVED these! I was SUPER psyched to try these on, because these are one of the jeans you all recommended to me for my best maternity jeans post! Services like Stitch Fix are amazing for trying out higher price point items without the commitment. And I’m so glad they sent these! I always always size down in Paige. They are incredible denim, great quality, and have amazing stretch. But I’ve always found them to run a little bigger, and they do stretch out as I wear them. Even while I was prancing around during my try on, I felt like they were starting to fall down. But they were SO comfortable. So these were hard to return! But I did request that they send the size 29s in my next Fix!
Verdict: RETURN (but asked to try them in a size down!)
This was the feedback I gave to my stylist this time:
“This fix felt a little too athleisure than I’d normally wear. No more short loose fitting dresses please, I really only like maxi length dresses while pregnant. And no dressy blouses. The jeans were amazing, but a little big, however the joggers were a little more snug than comfortable on my hips and thighs, so I may need to go up to a large in pants?”
