I’m sharing Febreze in my life as part of a sponsored series for Socialstars™
This past week we’ve gotten so many sunny days. It’s been fantastic! All the sunshine has me itching to start wearing some of my favorite Spring and Summer 2018 trends. Now, a lot of what I’ve seen in big name style magazines and on the runway have been… interesting. And so not mom-bod friendly. So today I want to share with you some of my favorite mom friendly trends that are big for Spring and Summer. And what I use in my closet to keep it all fresh!
Y’all. I never thought I’d say this, but I love me some 90s style. Not everything – you can keep the track suits and butterfly clips way way far away. I’m talking about the super comfy, super easy yet stylish 90s trends.
Think overalls and jumpsuits. If you follow me on Instagram you know I’m basically like a kid in a candy shop with my overalls. They’re flattering, and basically an entire outfit in one. I love a good fitted overall with a blousy top. I can run around with my kids and have no worries about what the back of my pants are doing. Jumpsuits are all over the place. And I love how they’re even more of a grab and go outfit than overalls. If it’s a little chilly out, I just grab a chambray or a light cardigan and throw it over. But there are endless flattering options out there for moms! Because I’m still nursing, I love jumpsuits that have a button down front or warp top. It allows for easy access, yet is still flattering.
I never thought I’d say this, but I am SO glad that some 90’s jeans styles are back. Namely, the “mom jean”. With a higher rise that hits at your waist and a relaxed fit from the hips down, these mom jeans are a wardrobe staple. Because they hit at the smallest point, they are incredibly flattering and do wonders for your behind.
Paper Bag Pants:
Going along with the nineties trend, I’m loving all the “new” wide leg pants styles. Paper Bag pants are crazy comfortable and movable, yet effortlessly chic. I like pairing them tucked into a simple tee, adding flats and heading out the door. Other pairings that I love are a snug body suit or a fitted button up. Basically, you just want tot balance the volume of the pants with a more fitted top.
Again, these are a high rise pant that hit at the smallest part of your waist. My favorite Paper Bag pants have a tie waist or belted waist. This really emphasizes my waist and makes me feel fantastic. Because they’re so versatile, you can rock them with flats, mules, sandals, booties and even sneakers! Plus, I’ve seen these work on literally every body type.
I feel like femininity is really shining through for Spring and Summer 2018 trends. One big trend I’ve noticed has been pastels! Especially lilac. I am personally so happy for more pastels! Don’t get me wrong, I feel like big bold colors will be very trendy for Spring and Summer 2018 as well, but the softness of a pastel is just so beautiful. In particular, I feel like lilac is just very flattering on every skin tone. I’m starting to fill my closets with soft ballet pinks, beautiful baby blues, and the ever gorgeous lilacs, as well as some pastel toned corals and mauves. Being a boy mom, theres just something about reclaiming any amount of feminine feeling I can get!
Along with pastels, I feel like yellow is going to be huge. In particular, gorgeous yellow dresses. While shopping online, I am seeing these stunning marigolds and buttercream colors pop up everywhere! Yellow is bright, it’s cheerful and it’s definitely appropriate for the Spring and Summer 2018 season.
Pastels and yellow aren’t the only thing I’m excited for. FLORAL is going to be big again as well! As a tribute to the 90s trend, I’ve seen a LOT of big daisy prints everywhere. While graphic daisies aren’t totally my style, I do have a few fantastically 90s dresses that I’ve thrifted that have a more delicate daisy print. Because florals are so feminine, I love my bold floral maxi dresses. Again, keeping with the fact that I’m still nursing and will hopefully have a bump emerging soon, wrap dresses and button front dresses are my go-to.
This is a big Spring Summer 2018 trend that I can whole-heartedly get behind. I think along with the big minimalism surge that has been happening, it’s been translating to fabrics and clothing as well. This means that people are somewhat becoming more aware of what they’re buying, the quality of the clothing, and the versatility as well.
ALL of my mom groups are going gaga over linen. And I totally get it. What’s not to love?! It’s effortlessly lived in and ridiculously comfortable. I love that it’s lightweight and breathable so when the summer heat hits, I’m not sweating buckets. Specifically with linen, I feel like less fitted is better. I’m seeing more boxy cuts and even more cropped lengths, both in tops and bottoms. A beautiful linen relaxed fit crop top paired with high waisted denim and some sandals is incredibly stylish and easy.
One of the biggest things I’ve noticed with linens is that they are sticking to a very natural and neutral look. Think oatmeals and creams and whites. However, some of the biggest items on my wishlist involve a beautiful marigold linen jumpsuit, a baby blue linen crop top, and a lilac linen dress. So yes to color, but still in a softer palette.
I am seeing straw EVERYWHERE. I love all the beautiful round straw bags that are popping up all over Instagram and shops. It’s something so different than your run of the mill square or rectangular bags. The visual interest is wonderful. And the hats, oh the beautiful hats. Straw is such a lightweight material, and I love when the texture is really played up when woven.
Hello Spring and Summer and sunshine!
Now that my closet is ready to go for warmer temps, there’s one more thing left to do. After being packed away all Fall and Winter in my garage, these beautiful Spring Summer 2018 trendy pieces need a little refresh. That’s where Febreze ONE comes in!
I shared last month about how I was doing a huge purge of my closet to get rid of things that didn’t fit, didn’t make me happy, and that I just wasn’t wearing (Spring Closet Cleanout). I got such positive feedback about it, and so many of you said that you went out to grab a Febreze ONE Bamboo to help things feel more fresh.
Well, good news is that same Febreze ONE that helps you get excited about cleaning, is also fantastic for freshening up your clothing. Because it’s fabric safe, Febreze ONE can help eliminate any lurking odors in not only the air, but on fabrics as well. That means any little musty smells that may be hanging around after unpacking are toast. And if you’re like me and add moth balls just in case, Febreze ONE gets rid of that funky smell in no time.
After unpacking all my Spring and Summer clothing, I just grab my Febreze ONE Bamboo and get to work. A small pump on the handle will give me a little spritz, which is perfect for sandals and shoes. And pumping three times gives me the perfect continuous spray to eliminate any musty smell in my clothing.
You can use Febreze ONE anywhere.
Febreze ONE is kind of like a utility knife for stench. We keep one in almost every room in the house! It’s especially invaluable in the bathrooms, especially during potty training and living with three boys…
