Take advantage of Fall’s in-season fruit and veggie harvests to create deliciously healthy green smoothies that the whole family will enjoy!
Pumpkin Spice Green Smoothie:
- 1 cup Coconut Milk
- 1/2 cup Pumpkin puree
- 1 Banana
- 1 cup spinach
- 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1 apple
- 1 handfull spinach
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tbs flax seeds
Carrot Cake Smoothie:
- 1 cup vanilla coconut milk (or use 1 cup regular coconut milk and about 1/2 tsp vanilla)
- 2 whole carrots (peeled)
- 1/2 banana (I use frozen)
- 2 tbs oats
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Cider Berry Green Smoothie:
(with this one, you may need to add a little more cider [or water if you prefer] if yours comes out too thick)
- 1.5 cups apple cider
- 1 cup frozen berries
- 1 cup spinach
Oatmeal Pear Breakfast Smoothie:
- 1/2 cup milk (I use coconut milk, but you can use any)
- 1/4 cup plain vanilla yogurt (I use greek for the extra protein)
- 1 apple
- 1 pear
- 1/4 cup quick oats
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ginger (I use freshly grated, so if you use a dry spice, you may need to adjust this)
Other add-ins to boost the benefits for yourself and your little one:
- Chia Seeds
- Flax Seeds
- Coconut Oil
We used to have another set of awesome reusable food pouches that I bought about a year ago, but unfortunately, I left several in the trunk of our very hot car this summer and didn’t discover my mistake for over a week. I knew I had gotten my money’s worth at that point, so I made the executive decision to toss the forlorn pouches out and grab some new ones off Amazon (thank you super speedy free Prime shipping!).
Our previous set had the spout on the side, which I had a love / hate relationship with, so this time, I decided to try out a reusable pouch that had the spout on top. I thought all of the color choices of these reusable food pouches from Basics Best were super cute, and since H is currently obsessed with ‘apple’ ‘ohnge’ and ‘sawbeyyi’ that the 6 oz ‘balloon’ ones would be perfect for him. They are really really easy to use and refill, and the bottom zipper hasn’t let me down yet – even after multiple freeze and thaw cycles. All I do when H is done with his pouch is rinse it out in the sink, slide it over a few of the rungs on the top shelf of my dishwasher, and I’m good to go.
What one of these would you try first?
