I've mentioned before that I've been in a bit of a funk the last few months. Thankfully, I've been figuring out little ways to get myself out of the pits, and one of those ways has been to focus on self-improvement.
I have always been a 'wash and go' kind of girl, and figured that it was ok to keep it to the basics, because washing your face, is washing your face - right?
You can put 100 people in a room and give them all the same face wash and it will work differently on each person, because we all have different skin types and skincare needs. Additionally, sometimes just washing your face isn't enough, especially if you have concerns about skin tone, discoloration or unevenness, problems with acne or aging, etc. However, one google search for 'personalized skincare' will yield you approximately 1.4 million results - its all a bit overwhelming and I had no idea where to start.
Then I discovered derma e®. Family owned and operated for over 30 years, derma e® has pioneered the development of vitamin-rich, high-performance antioxidant skincare solutions. The award-winning line features doctor-developed, consumer-tested and clinically-tested face care, body care and treatment products that are free of parabens, phthalates, mineral oil and petrolatum. Every formula is cruelty-free, gluten-free and 100 percent vegan. Manufacturing and operations are offset 100 percent by wind power. derma e® can be found in over 16,500 retail outlets across the U.S. such as Whole Foods Markets, ULTA Beauty, CVS and more!
After clicking around a little, I learned that derma e®'s entire skincare line is Gluten Free, Vegan, and Cruelty Free, and can be found wherever you buy Gluten Free products. After learning more about the brand and checking out several of the products, I took the derma evaluation on their website so that derma e® could build a custom, gluten free skin care regimen that was tailored to my exact needs.
From my derma evaluation results, derma e® suggested the Evenly Radiant® line for a cleanser, toner, day moisturizer, night moisturizer, serum and eye cream, as well as the Microdermabrasion Scrub and Tea Tree and E Antiseptic Crème. I chose three items to try out: the Evenly Radiant® Brightening Cleanser, the Evenly Radiant® Brightening Night Crème and the Microdermabrasion Scrub as I felt these three products in particular would help in the areas I needed it most.
I received my derma e® goodies on a Saturday night, and started using them on Sunday. It has now been two weeks and I honestly see a huge difference in my skin - but I'll let you see for yourself: two completely unedited pictures of yours truly, with a bare face.
Complete disclosure: Of course the cotton headed ninny muggins forgot to take a picture Sunday before starting to use the gluten free beauty products, so the first picture is from Monday morning, after already having used the Evenly Radiant® Brightening Cleanser three times (am, pm, am), the Evenly Radiant® Brightening Night Crème once (pm) and the Microdermabrasion Scrub once (Sunday pm).
1. Gently lather the Evenly Radiant® Brightening Cleanser over face and neck, then rinse thoroughly with water. Use morning and evening.
** Twice a week, apply the Microdermabrasion Scrub to wet skin. Gently scrub desired areas in circular motion for up to 1 minute. For sensitive skin, less pressure is recommended. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Pat dry.
2. After cleansing, gently and thoroughly spray face and neck with toner.
3. After cleansing and toning, pump skin perfecting serum onto fingertips and apply to face and neck, gently massaging into skin in circular motions.
4. In the evening before retiring, apply Evenly Radiant® Brightening Night Crème or whenever extra moisture is needed.
Even waking up Monday morning, I noticed that my skin looked *noticeably* different, which I'm chalking up to the Microdermabrasion scrub. Each of the 4 times I've used it, I notice a huge difference right away: my skin immediately looks lighter and brighter and more dewey, and it is amazing at zapping the acne scars I had.
It's no wonder, especially now after using their products for only two weeks and noticing such a big change in my skin, that derma e® has grown to become one of the largest natural facial care brands in the US. They attribute their success to honoring their customers with products that promote healthier looking skin and business ethics that promote a healthier world. By combining natural, proven ingredients, advances in biotechnology, years of formulary experience and environmental conscientiousness, derma e® crafts powerful, therapeutic products that are as skin-friendly as they are earth-friendly.
Now lets go over some of the reasons why I'm loving my derma e® trio:
Every product in the derma e® line is paraben-free. derma e® uses alternative advanced preservative systems that are recognized as safe by the natural products industry.
derma e® recognizes that some individuals with gluten intolerance may have an allergic reaction when gluten is applied topically. We are proud to announce that with the reformulation of Stop Itch, all derma e® products are officially 100% gluten-free.
derma e® NEVER formulates with ingredients containing GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms), therefore all products are GMO free.
The entire derma e® line is 100% vegetarian and vegan. derma e®’s skincare formulas do not contain animal by-products, and the company does not test on animals.
The derma e® philosophy takes animal welfare into consideration. As a result, the company does not test on animals, and our formulas do not contain any animal by-products. All formulas are cruelty-free and suitable for vegans.
derma e® never formulates with the comedogenic (pore-clogging) ingredients mineral oil or lanolin. Additionally, mineral oil is petroleum sourced and may be contaminated with carcinogenic agents. Lanolin is animal derived and therefore banned from derma e® formulas.
derma e® believes in giving back to the earth responsibly. derma e® products are made with recyclable material.
Quality ingredients lead to quality formulations. derma e® rigorously evaluates where each ingredient comes from to ensure each source has sufficient quality control measures in place. Additionally, each source is qualified to ensure its harvesting and manufacturing practices are both sustainable and responsible. Of note, derma e® sources its red palm oil from documented, sustainable sources.
You can actually customize your skincare routine with their derma evaluation to pinpoint the correct gluten free products for your skin – taking into account your lifestyle, skin concerns, and needs.
In just two weeks, my skin tone has evened out incredibly and the redness is almost completely gone. I have always thought of the whole skin care shebang as tedious and not completely necessary, but derma e® has totally changed my views. I know it sounds a little crazy, but after seeing the results I have, I actually get kind of excited to wash and treat my face in the mornings and at night! I have tried a ton of products (although to be fair, I've never been diligent about nightly routine) and nothing has given me these kind of results in this short amount of time!
