Beauty // My 7 minute makeup routine

In an attempt to put myself together more, especially during the week, I thought I'd share my new makeup routine. It's a little more than your basic mascara and lip balm, but barely takes any time at all and makes me feel like I look pretty decent. I would say it only takes 5 minutes, but I'm slow as molasses when it comes to anything beauty related, especially when I have a seperation-anxiety ridden / fussy / clingy / teething Hulk bebĂ© competing for my attention. When I timed my slow self, it took anywhere from 5 minutes and 26 seconds to 6 minutes and 54 seconds, so you're still under 7 minutes for a full face.

After washing my face, I use both Foxbrim's Vitamin C Serum for Face and Foxbrim's Ocean Mineral Face Lotion to moisturize and prep my skin. I use Foxbrim because it's great for my dry / sensitive skin and doesn't cause breakouts. Using both the Vitamin C Serum as well as their Ocean Mineral Face Lotion gives me the perfect base for applying makeup, and ensures that I'm also helping treat my skin for it's best health. Because of the Hyaluronic Acid, my face is left feeling super moisturized and soft without any greasy residue. Both these products help even my skin tone, prevent free radicals from damaging my skin, and are great for anti-aging. The scent is light and super gender neutral, so even my hubby loves using it in the mornings and after he shaves!

The first and most important step that I try to do every morning, regardless of whether I end up doing a full beauty routine or not, is I curl my eyelashes with Beauty Lashious' eyelash curler. I used to skip this step because I thought it was unnecessary, but it's incredible how much more open and brighter my eyes look with a few squeezes of this eyelash curler. As an extra bonus, the way the handle is, you use three fingers instead of two like in other curlers I've tried, meaning my hand is much more steady and comfortable in an ergonomically grip and I don't pinch my eyelids at all - score!

Right after curling, I put on one coat of Covergirl's Flamed Out mascara. This was a random late-night Target purchase, and it's become my favorite to use, as it gives my lashes awesome volume and is easy to wash off at night.

I use the eyeliner brush from Petunia Skincare's Professional Makeup Brush Kit and Creep from Urban Decay's Naked palette to line my upper lids, and Petunia's eyeshadow brush after to apply Naked over top. The Naked Palette has a cult following for good reason, and these Petunia Skincare brushes were not only a great investment, but are easy to use and help my makeup go on smoothly without leaving stray fibers or hairs behind. I always just thought "a brush is a brush is a brush", but the 12 brush that come in this kit are amazingly high quality - so much better than the drugstore versions I've bought in the past, and rival my Bobbi Brown brushes that I love! Petnuia's brushes are made from high quality wood and natural and synthetic hairs, meaning product is not going to stick to them and your makeup will go on evenly, and are super comfortable to use. They come in a super convenient (and cute) carrying case with brush protectors, so I never have to worry about where I put them and I know they'll be protected! They also come with a little guide to help you learn how to use each of the brushes!

After another coat of Mascara, I clean up any loose shadow or runaway mascara with a Q-tip and finally, I smooth Clinique's CC cream (or another favorite is Maybelline's Dream Fresh BB Cream) over my entire face. I love that the BB and CC creams are so lightweight and easy to apply, and are an all-in-one product that gives me just enough product.

If I'm really feeling it that morning, I'll take Petunia's Powder Brush and dust a light bronzer (I use bareMinerals' Warmth) over my forehead, nose and cheeks, and I'm good to go!

Under 7 minutes for a full face? High fives all around!

Now all I need to find is a great lip product - any recommendations?
