The Rad Revolution Review & Giveaway

RadRevo Rad Revolution Taggie Teethers and Comfy Hoods
Are you a human?
Do you have a baby?
Does your baby wear diapers?
Have you ever worn a necklace?
Does / will your baby get teeth?
I’m guessing your answer is yes to at least one of the above questions, so read on for an awesome GIVEAWAY for a store credit to Rad Revolution!
I came upon RadRevo about a year ago. After finding out we were having a boy, I was perusing Instagram for cute shops that made bow ties and fell in love with all the options that RadRevo had. I love that Mallory, the mom behind the brand, puts such consideration into each fabric choice and has two product testers of her very own at home! It has been so much fun getting to know this talented mama, she cracks me up and has so much enthusiasm for what she does. Her work is amazing – I have a few teething ring toys from other shops, and there’s not contest. Mallory’s lines are so crisp and everything looks extremely professionally finished; even with daily hulk-baby use not a single tear or seam rip has happened, which is a huge feat in our house.
This last month we have been in a bit of teething h-e-double hockey sticks, to say the least. Yikes. I’m getting gnawed on constantly while nursing: ouch, and his new favorite thing is to bite down on my clavicle and shoulder as hard as possible for some teething relief. We have the ever popular Sophie the giraffe, of course, but after a while the squeaking noise can get a little grating, and H drops it all. the. time. After much frustration (and many bite marks and bruises on my end), I got in touch with Mallory and a few days later had a Black & White Vintage Taggie Teether in H’s mouth and ever since my bite marks have faded and H has a new best friend that never leaves his hands!
I love that the Taggie Teethers are so small and easy for H to hold himself. When I go out for walks with him in the Ergo, I always make sure to pop one in his hands, and they have been awesome for him to fiddle with while breast feeding so that I don’t get scratched or pinched.
The Zippered bag has been great for day trips and traveling. It’s the perfect size to put a few Taggie Teethers, a little cardboard book or two, socks, and some snacks in, zip it up and throw it into the diaper bag! The pop of blue
A few of our favorites that have been added to our collection: the Mad For Black Cozy HoodRiptide, Black and White Vintage (currently out of stock), & Apostrophie Taggie Teethers for H, and the Black and White Vintage Zip Bag, & Cream and Gold 3-layer headband for mama!
-What made you start RadRevo? And how did you come up with your name?
I started my little business on a whim. There are so many cute ways for moms to match their little girls but as a mom of now two boys there was no way to match them! I started out making bow ties that matched my teething necklaces. It was fun and a few friends wanted me to make some for them as well. I decided to open an etsy shop in April and I was blown away with how well it did! I slowly started to hate making bow ties so I decided to launch my other ideas in hopes I could still keep my business going. My taggie teethers were even more popular than my bow ties so the rest is history!
The name started out as RADD Design. While my shop was closed a few months ago to have my second baby boy, I decided that would be the best time for a name change and re launch! Rad is one of my favorite words and the two D’s were giving me hashtag troubles. While laying in the hospital bed, all drugged up with an epidural, watching The Hills reruns, I came up with Rad Revolution (inspired by where my biggest idol LC works;)
-What (or who) has been your biggest inspiration?I can’t even begin to pick just one inspiration. I am inspired on an hourly basis by everything around me. I am a very visual person so every line, color, and shadow inspires me. One show that inspires me to a crazy extent would be Project Runway. I dream of being able to spend hundreds of dollars at Mood and create such stunning and sometimes ridiculous pieces.
-Have you always been interested in sewing? My mom taught me how to sew at a pretty young age. Whenever I heard the word sewing though, I always thought of a grandma making slightly ugly quilts so I never really took off with it. I made a thousand pillows and tied a few blankets and quilts but never was obsessed like I am now. When I was in junior high and skinny pants became the craze I put my skills to use making my normal jeans skinnier and started to alter clothes. That was when I realized sewing was a lot more than grandma quilts. (Although I LOVE and appreciate grandma quilts so much more now!)
-As a new mom with a newborn and a 2 year old, how do you balance everything?!I don’t think I do. I feel like I’m still adjusting and figuring out a routine. My kids are my absolute first priority so when my newborn only wants to take a nap on me and not let me sew, (like what’s happening this very minute) I sit on the couch and cuddle him and try to enjoy every minute. I also spend a lot of time sitting and nursing so that’s when I catch up on emails and social media! Other than that I only sew while my toddler is napping and occasionally when my husband is home. I know these young years are so important and fun and I wouldn’t trade that for a business any day! (Sorry Shark Tank Sharks, my business comes second, I may never get a deal with them because of this.. Oh well!) With that being said I do take my customers very seriously and adjust my inventory based on my time to insure that every order gets shipped within a week!
-When you’re not busy being super mom, where could we find you?The couch. Or in bed sleeping. I love sleeping almost as much as I love my family and dessert. I battle my laziness gene and my love for crappy reality TV on a daily basis. Spending time with my family takes the cake though. We have so much fun together and love exploring and being outside.
-What has been your favorite item or fabric so far?Every single item I sell I’m obsessed with! I would never sell a fabric that I didn’t love. I’ve bought a few online that I had planned to use for teethers, but sometimes don’t scale right or look a little off, so they never make it to the site. My hoods are definitely my favorite right now though, they are just so rad!
-Any sneak peaks or hints to new designs you’re thinking of?Since I just launched my new line of Cozy Hoods, I’m excited to see where they can go! My instagram is very transparent and a direct look inside my mind and ideas so I don’t have any juicey secrets for you;) I like getting to know my followers (because I’m pretty sure I have THE BEST followers) and see what they want or colors they like!
-Anything else you’d like us to know?I love doing custom orders and requests!! Working directly with people is so much fun for me. I’ve done custom dolls, bow ties, and awesome combination sets of just about everything. Email me and let’s chat!!
-If you were to try out for The Voice, what song would you pick to sing? This is a tough one because my first reaction would be to go with T Swift… But now that I think about it I would probably do a Carolline Pennel version of any song she performed.. Because she’s my fav!! Or Coldplay. Okay I can’t decide.. I’ll just stick to performing for my shower head.
